Option 1:

2.       Approve Permissions on the Roku TV to Connect with Application Downloaded on Inspire

a.       Using the Roku TV physical remote, perform the following steps on the TV:

1.       Open Settings.

2.       Select System.

3.       Select Advanced system settings.

4.       Select Control by mobile apps.

5.       Select Network access.

6.       Choose Permissive.

1.       You may also choose Default, but Permissive is usually the best option while troubleshooting.

2.       Do not leave this setting on Disabled, because that prevents apps and other devices from controlling the Roku over the network.

7.       Return to Advanced system settings.

8.       Select Device Connect.

9.       Make sure Device Connect is enabled.

1.       This allows compatible devices and applications to communicate with the Roku.

10.  Confirm both devices are on the same network

1.       Check the Wi-Fi or wired network connection on the Roku.

2.       Check the network connection on the computer or other controlling device.

3.       Make sure both devices are connected to the same local network.

o   A separate business or visitor network

o   A VPN

11.  Approve any permission prompts

After opening the control application or sending a command:

1.       Look at the Roku TV screen.

2.       Check for a message asking whether to allow the device or application to connect.

3.       Select Allow or Always allow, when available.

12.  Restart the Roku

1.       Open Settings.

2.       Select System.

3.       Select Power, when available.

4.       Select System restart.

5.       Choose Restart.

13.  Restart the controlling application

1.       Completely close the Roku control application.

2.       Reopen it.

3.       Search for or rediscover the Roku device.

4.       Reconnect to it.

5.       Test a basic command, such as Home, Up, or OK.
